Dr. de Lartigue is a french citizen that spent most of his formative years in England. He graduated with a BS in Medical Biochemistry from Royal Holloway University of London in 2002. He received a Wellcome Trust PhD studentship and joined the lab of Prof. Graham Dockray FRS at the University of Liverpool to study the mechanisms of vagal afferent gut-brain signaling in the regulation of food intake. After a short postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Liverpool, he moved to the lab of Dr. Helen Raybould at UC Davis in 2009 to study gut-brain signaling disruption in response to chronic ingestion of calorie-rich diets. In 2013 he was awarded an NIH K99/R00 Pathways to Independence grant to develop novel techniques to better study gut-brain signaling and determine whether vagal afferent neurons could be targeted for the treatment of obesity. Guillaume joined the John B. Pierce Laboratory as an Assistant Fellow in May 2015.
